About
What Squad Surge is built to be
A free browser shooter about one clear promise: grow the squad, read the road, and survive the horde.
Squad Surge is a free, single-player 3D endless squad shooter for modern browsers. It is built with three.js, TypeScript, and Vite. You steer a moving formation through gates, traps, enemy crowds, ambushes, and boss arenas while the soldiers fire automatically. The number over the squad is the number that drives the run. More soldiers mean more firing power. Losses reduce the real count. Nothing important is faked.
An honest gate-runner
There is a familiar promise in the gate-runner ad genre: pick a lane, multiply a squad, dodge danger, and crash through a horde. Squad Surge makes that promise the actual game. Gates really apply their printed operation. Gold gates really grow when the squad shoots them. Traps show warning lights, ground marks, or timing windows before they hurt. Bosses telegraph their attacks. Perks and Armory upgrades are earned through play, not sold as shortcuts.
The design is direct on purpose. Blue means help. Red means hurt. Gold means shoot it. Purple means risk. A run is not meant to be solved by a hidden stat screen. It is meant to be read on the road: calculate the gate, move out of the circle, kill the support enemy, keep enough squad for the next boss.
Free to play, supported by advertising
Squad Surge is free and supported by advertising. A short ad may occasionally play at a natural break: before a run starts, between sectors after you choose a perk, when you open the pause menu, or when you open the Armory. Ads never play during active gameplay.
Optional rewarded ads always require an explicit choice and always include a “No thanks” option. They can offer one in-game-only reward: Second Wind revives a wiped squad once per run with max(10, 25% of peak squad) soldiers, capped at 40, plus a protective shockwave; Double Coins doubles that run’s result-screen coins; Supply Drop gives the next run +1 grenade, +1 medkit, and +6 soldiers. These rewards have no cash value, cannot be exchanged, and are not for sale. Nothing in Squad Surge is for sale.
Progress stays on this device
Squad Surge has no account system. Coins, Armory upgrades, records, Daily Run result, and settings are saved in the browser’s localStorage on the current device. Clearing site data, using private browsing, or switching browsers can remove or isolate that progress. This keeps the game simple: open the page, play the run, keep what you earned locally.
